Downstream’s software team specializes in interactive frameworks and development pipelines that support these highly bespoke storytelling platforms.
Purpose
At Downstream, our QA Specialist will ensure the experiences we craft meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and usability. You will work closely with a diverse team of software developers across creative coding frameworks (Cinder, TouchDesigner, Vue.js, and others) to test both front-end interactive applications and back-end content management system user interfaces.
This role is central to guaranteeing smooth project launches, resilient software deployments, and seamless user experiences across our portfolio of immersive projects.
What You’ll Be Doing
● Perform thorough QA testing across interactive front-end applications and our custom CMS platforms.
● Develop and maintain automated QA scripts and frameworks to support repeatable, scalable testing.
● Manage and curate content-data sets specifically designed to support comprehensive QA efforts.
● Document QA processes, technical findings, and deployment notes for cross-team clarity.
● Collaborate with developers to identify, reproduce, and resolve issues efficiently.
● Support structured deployment processes and ensure versioning, regression, and integration testing standards are met.
● Provide technical documentation to support both internal teams and client-facing deliverables.
What You Bring
● Proven experience in QA testing for software products (native, front-end, and back-end).
● Familiarity with frameworks such as Cinder, TouchDesigner, Vue.js, or equivalent interactive/creative coding environments.
● Experience with automated testing frameworks and scripting (Python, JavaScript, or similar).
● Strong understanding of QA methodologies, regression testing, and deployment pipelines.
● Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to spot inconsistencies across complex systems.
● Experience maintaining and managing structured test data.
● Excellent documentation and communication skills for diverse technical and creative audiences.
● Ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams and contribute to continuous improvement of QA practices.
● Experience with Windows OS
Bonus:
