Human Resources Intern
Accountability: This position reports directly to the Senior Global Immigration, Labor Relations Lead
Essential Job Functions:
- Provide administrative and HR support to an H.R. team of 6 people.
- Assist with immigration-related administrative tasks, including organizing case files, maintaining immigration records, tracking expirations, and preparing documentation for audits.
- Assist with I-9 compliance efforts, including file maintenance, internal audits, reverification tracking, and document organization under HR supervision.
- Assist with maintaining H-1B Public Access Files (PAFs) and other compliance documentation in accordance with Department of Labor requirements.
- Perform periodic audits of HR, immigration, and benefits files to ensure required documentation is complete, accurate, and properly filed.
- Maintain and update employee data in the firm’s Human Resources system of record and internal platforms.
- Provide administrative support to the Benefits Manager, including benefits enrollment tracking, documentation processing, and responding to routine employee inquiries by escalating as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate logs, trackers, and organized project folders for HR, immigration, and benefits initiatives.
- Exercise discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism in handling sensitive employee and immigration-related information.
- Promote high professional standards, positive interpersonal relations, and a solution-oriented mindset in all interactions.
Qualifications:
- Current enrollment in an accredited undergraduate or graduate Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial/Organizational Psychology or related program.
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills at all levels of an organization
- Ability to prioritize daily tasks and multitask efficiently.
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and work in a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to always represent the firm in a professional manner and follow applicable company guidelines and policies as described in the firm’s Employee Handbook.
Work Environment:
This position requires you to be in person in our New York office 5 days per week.
Pay Range:
$22.00 - $25.00 Hourly
