Role summary

This role is part of the in house design review team working closely with architects across multiple projects at all stages of design and construction. The position requires excellent communication skills and in-depth technical knowledge in the design of systems and materials.           Project BIM Specialist

          Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates (KPF), a global architecture practice headquartered in New York City, is seeking a Project BIM Specialist in the New York Area to assist and support the integration of BIM related technologies with KPF’s design and business processes on a specific large high-profile project.

           

          This position requires previous professional experience with BIM technologies – i.e. Revit, Dynamo, Navisworks, etc. – and their application to the design, construction and fabrication phases of large, global and complex projects. The candidate should have between 5-7 years of architectural professional experience with strong documentation skills, experience on large-scale projects, and ability to be flexible and work well/collaborate with team members.

           

          We seek an individual with expertise and interest in all aspects of AEC design technologies, and with aspirations to be leaders in the industry. The position involves direct interaction and communication with architectural teams, including leading training sessions and best practice implementation. Periodic interaction with senior KPF staff and clients in all aspects of BIM integration will be expected.

           

          Primary Responsibilities:

          • Assist the BIM Manager with the development and updates to BIM protocols specific to the project
          • Develop customized workflows to automate the monitoring and extraction of data from multiple models
          • Collation of data and visualization for presentations to Owner & 3rd Party review
          • Assisting the BIM Manager in organizing and running BIM related meetings and managing project records
          • BIM Quality Control, Audits & Compliance Management through ISO 19650
          • Develop and implement a clash detection process for the project, using agreed software and tracking mechanisms to ensure relevant action is promptly undertaken and that the model review and remedial action processes run smoothly
          • Provide BIM onboarding for new design team members

          Qualifications:

          • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in architecture, Engineering, or related field.
          • 5+ years in Revit – professional and/or specific academic BIM application.

           

          Required Knowledge and Abilities:

          • Strong presentation skills and ability to clearly present information.
