We recognize the urgency of the challenges that face our planet, and our duty to deliver architecture and design best suited for a flourishing future. Our studios are founded on analysis and exploration. We relish the challenges inherent across a wide range of work, engaging our expertise and agility to deliver lasting, meaningful design that brings value and joy to clients and users. At Grimshaw, we encourage creativity, collaboration and innovation. We want our staff to be fulfilled by their time with us as we know the key to our continuing success is working with and engaging the most talented people we can find.

                    The Role:

We are seeking highly skilled Senior Architects and project leaders experienced in various sectors to join our New York and Los Angeles studios. In this role, you will leverage your design expertise and project delivery experience to contribute to projects. As a key member of our team, you will demonstrate exceptional communication skills, leadership, and professionalism. Collaboration, reliability, and accountability for meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality work are paramount. Your proactive approach will focus on design, project delivery, and exceeding client and firm-wide expectations. The successful candidate will excel in all aspects of project delivery, including client interaction, design-team coordination, consultant collaboration, and leading the production of construction documents.

                    What You Will Do:

                    • Generate creative design solutions to projects at different phases from conceptual design through construction administration.
                    • Work as part of a team, coordinating your work and skills with other team members and under the guidance and direction of the project leader and partners.
                    • Help to resolve design and technical challenges.
                    • Engage and coordinate with Grimshaw’s other design and engineering consultants.
                    • Exhibit a passion and strive for design excellence.
                    • Mentor and develop junior staff within your projects and the studio, fostering a commitment to professional development.
                    • Help contribute to the life of the studio, studio-wide initiatives and challenges, our design and sustainability culture, and the broader social and wellness culture at Grimshaw.
                    • Travel periodically as required.

                    Qualifications and Skills:

                    • Master’s degree or equivalent 5-year professional degree in Architecture from an accredited school required.
                    • Minimum of 10+ years related professional experience.
                    • Experience in aviation, rail, and related transit-infrastructure highly prioritized.
                    • Experience in culture, hospitality, workplace, master planning, higher education and sports sectors also valuable
                    • Other large-scale sector experience a plus.
                    • Excellent communication, presentation, and client-facing skills.
                    • Proficiency in digital design tools is required (Revit, Rhino; parametric design tools a plus).
                    • Proven experience managing teams and coordinating with consultants.
                    • Time management, prioritization skills, and a meticulous attention to detail required.
                    • Ability to communicate clear design ideas and direction quickly.
                    • Experience of designing net-zero carbon projects.
                    • Experience in working collaboratively in mid to large-sized teams and contributing to the design of large projects is prioritized.

Applications will not be considered without a portfolio and work samples.
